Helping Students Further Their Education
The Foundation was based upon the belief that “character” is a vital component in defining success, and “giving” is a major element of character. Since Frenship ISD has emphasized the teaching of character since 1977, there became a movement to reward FISD students who have shown a dedication to integrity—at a time in life when that may be the toughest.
Research suggests that character in youth is the greatest predictor of future success—and the primary difference…it is a choice we all are allowed to make. We began our scholarship program in 2003. Each spring we host a “Drive for Leaders” golf tournament and all monies raised at this event go to our student scholarship winners each year. Since 2003, proceeds from the annual “Drive for Leaders” golf tournament have granted 276 scholarships totaling $708,600.00.
Thank you to all those who joined us at the Drive for Leaders Golf Tournament this year!
